Attachment:
Attachments helps with emotional development of a child. A good attachment (bond) between child and caregiver gives child confidence that he/she is secure and his/ her needs would be addressed like: hunger or fear. Child also gets the freedom to explore in the presence of the care- giver.
Relationships:
Since birth babies have a drive to connect and communicate and develop their social skills. This helps them build healthy relationships as they grow and is important for their wellbeing.
Emotional security:
Emotional security goes hand in had with attachment. This is when a child feels secure and loved by the adults in their life. It plays as mediation between child and caregiver and or parents attachment and helps child’s development. Helping a child to establish emotional security can be as simple as practicing consistency, connection and compassion.
Health:
It is important for a child to be healthy and learn what keeps them healthy and what can be unfavourable to their health.
Self-esteem:
The idea of feeling good about oneself is described as self-esteem for children. Healthy self-esteem is like a child’s armour against the challenges of the world. Kids with healthy self-esteem feel confident and proud of what they can do, however on the other hand low self-esteem kids lack confidence and doubt they can do well. Developing self-esteem helps kids handle conflicts and resist negative pressures.
Diet:
Good nutrition and a balanced diet help children to grow up healthy. There is a positive association between dietary variety and nutritional status. Children shall be encouraged about eating healthy.
Exercise:
Children who regularly exercise along with their strength they usually enjoy high self-esteem. This in turn affects improves their confidence and reduces symptoms of anxiety and or depression. Eventually if kid is happy it helps in child’s social well being as well.
Rest and sleep:
It is vital for children to get the rest they require and enough sleep to remain alert and healthy. It’s essential due to their rapid growth & development. In order to do this they need a comfy & quite place to sleep and it helps to follow a sleep schedule.
Prompt medical/dental attention when needed:
Any illness or pain of a child shall be attended to immediately and with utmost care. The extended period of illness or dental problem could be extremely detrimental and shall be treated at the earliest.
Preventive health programs:
Under preventive care visits by child care specialist to assess basic health care, vaccination and developmental assessment are done at regular periods and also counselling and education on different topics is done to support parents.
In addition children shall also to be guided and educated through their early years on ways to keep on track to stay healthy. Simple things like benefits of covering mouth while cough or sneeze, using tissue, washing hands and what shall only be taken in mouth and staying active, shall be educated.
